Sarah & Tyler | September 27, 2024 | Journeyman Distillery
Sarah and Tyler’s wedding at Journeyman Distillery was a perfect blend of modern elegance, fun traditions, and heartfelt moments. With a huge bridal party (18 total!) and a crew of adorable juniors, their day was packed with energy, love, and meticulously planned details.
The day kicked off with Tyler and his groomsmen at Four Winds New Buffalo, where they had a relaxed morning, featuring “game day” style photos with their videographer. I captured all the groom’s details—his shoes, cologne, boutonnière, cufflinks, rings, vow books, and wedding invites—before he got ready with his guys. A few candid whiskey shots and laughs later, we headed over to Sarah.
Meanwhile, Sarah and her bridesmaids were getting glammed up, sipping mimosas in matching pajamas, and soaking in the excitement of the day. By 1:30 PM, Sarah was wedding-ready, and we captured dress portraits, flat lays, and her stunning bridal details before she stepped into her gown. Her dogs even made an appearance for portraits, adding the cutest touch to the day!
One of the most emotional moments? Her first look with her dad at 2:35 PM, followed by a sweet first look with Tyler at 3:15 PM—a moment filled with pure joy and happy tears. After private bridal party photos (strategically hidden behind the venue to avoid guests seeing them too soon), it was finally time for the 4:30 PM ceremony.
Set against the industrial charm of Journeyman Distillery, Sarah and Tyler exchanged vows in a warm, intimate ceremony. The love between them was undeniable, and their family photos inside the ceremony space added to the cozy, sentimental atmosphere.
The reception kicked off with a bang, with parents and the entire bridal party making a grand entrance as one big group! The couple went straight into their first dance at 6:10 PM, followed by the cake cutting, speeches, and golden hour portraits (a must-have for them!). By 7:20 PM, the dance floor was officially open after their father-daughter and mother-son dances, followed by a group dance floor photo that captured just how much fun everyone was having.
A touching moment of the night? Tyler dedicating a song to his grandma at 8:45 PM—a memory that had everyone tearing up. After the anniversary dance at 9:00 PM, the night wrapped up with Detroit-style pizza and shooters at 10:00 PM (with the most fun pizza + shooter photo to prove it!).
From start to finish, Sarah and Tyler’s wedding was nothing short of unforgettable. Between their beautifully planned timeline, the emotional first looks, and a dance floor that never emptied, their wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and fun.
