Welcome to my bio!
Welcome to my website! Photography is not just a hobby for me, it's my absolute passion. I never travel without my camera in hand, capturing every moment and memory along the way. When I'm not behind the lens or editing photos, you can find me traveling, hitting the gym, strumming on my guitar, or spending quality time with my two beloved cats.

Fun fact: I am a United States Marine Veteran and a dedicated bikini competitor. Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy exploring my work!

Tiarrah Alysiah Sova

Destination Wedding, Elopement + Boudoir Photographer

Welcome to SovaPortrait – Where Your Love Story Comes to Life!
Hi, I’m Tiarrah, a traveling wedding, elopement, and boudoir photographer based in Metro Detroit, Michigan, and Okeechobee, Florida! I specialize in capturing raw, authentic, and beautifully timeless moments for couples who want their love story told in a way that feels real. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement in the mountains, a destination wedding on the coast, or a heartfelt celebration close to home, I am here to document it all.
My Journey to Wedding Photography
My love for photography started young—I was always fascinated by my parents’ polaroid, snapping photos of anything I could. That curiosity turned into passion when I was stationed in Southern California during my time in the Marine Corps. I proudly served as a United States Marine from 2015 to 2023, stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, as an E-5 Sergeant and Motor Transportation Operator.
After returning home to Michigan in 2020, I explored multiple interests, including fitness, nutrition, and music. I managed Anytime Fitness and worked as a personal trainer, but my heart always pulled me back to photography. In 2021, I took a leap of faith, leaving the fitness industry to pursue wedding photography full-time—and I have never looked back! Since then, I’ve had the honor of capturing weddings across the country, from tropical beaches to breathtaking mountain landscapes.
Your Story, My Passion
I believe that wedding photography is more than just beautiful images—it’s about preserving the emotions, energy, and once-in-a-lifetime moments that make your day uniquely yours. Whether you’re saying “I do” barefoot in the sand, under a canopy of trees, or in a grand ballroom, I am here to document every genuine moment so you can relive it for years to come.

Wanderlust & Weddings – Capturing Love Across the Map

Traveling has always been a huge part of who I am. My love for adventure started while I was stationed in California, where I spent my free time exploring and capturing the beauty of different places through my lens. That passion only grew stronger, inspiring me to chase new destinations and document love stories along the way.

I’ve traveled to nearly all 50 states (yes, I collect the Starbucks travel mugs!), and my journey has taken me beyond the U.S. for some unforgettable destination weddings and photoshoots. Some of my favorite places I’ve been lucky enough to explore include Alberta, Canada; Oahu, Hawaii; and Montego Bay, Jamaica—each holding its own kind of magic.

But there’s still so much more to see! My bucket list is endless, and I’m always dreaming of the next breathtaking location to shoot a wedding. Whether it’s a mountaintop elopement, a tropical beach ceremony, or a cozy European getaway, I’m ready to pack my bags and capture your love story wherever it takes you.

And one day, I’ll be doing it all from my dream travel van, living life on the road and bringing my camera along for every adventure!

Planning a destination wedding or elopement? Let’s make it happen—wherever in the world your love takes you!

The places you’ll go…

Based in Michigan & Florida – Capturing Love Everywhere

I split my time between Michigan and Florida, but my heart (and camera) are always ready for the next adventure! I love meeting new people, exploring incredible places, and experiencing the beauty of different landscapes.

One of my favorite places I’ve ever visited is Banff in Alberta, Canada—and it’s a dream of mine to photograph a wedding there! But until that day comes, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to capture love stories across the U.S. and beyond.

I’ve photographed weddings in Michigan (including the Upper Peninsula), Hawaii, California, Colorado, Zion National Park (Utah), Washington, Oregon, Ohio, the Smoky Mountains (Tennessee), Indiana, and Jamaica—and I can’t wait to add more destinations to the list!

Getting married somewhere epic? Let’s talk—I’d love to capture your love story wherever it takes you!

Meet the Family.

To some people, family might mean having a huge happy people family! But to me, relaxing at home with my two kitties is purrrrrre happiness!

  • Born September 26th, 2021, Leo is an exotic shorthair cat. Originally I had his sister Athena, but she passed after 6 short beautiful days. She was very young, but I was blessed with the spirit of her brother to drive me crazy on a daily! We literally travel all over the country together. He has flown and slept in the car at times! Literally the chillest cat ever.

  • Ally was born October of 2014! She is a domestic shorthair cat. Ally was the runt of the litter, but that didn’t stop her from being the most energetic and cuddly cat of the bunch! I knew she belonged to me. She and I lived with my parents until I left for the USMC. I left her for 4 years so coming back wasn’t completely the same ); I left her at home when I moved out originally because she loves the outdoors! But once my Athena died, I took home Ally for the companionship. She did well at my apartment. I had her for a month and a half until her younger brother Leo came along! She wasn’t sure about him at first, I mean he’s a boy, what do you expect! But once she figured out she could mess with him unlike her dog brother at home, she loved him! Life is good with my two kitties!
